Crater Lake was super fun to go and see, especially once you find out the island in the middle is called Wizard's Island. The crater was made by a volcano erupting way long ago which gives it its distinct look. It was also high enough in elevation that there was still snow everywhere! Near the end of May and I'm still trudging through snow. I thought it would never end! There were 10-12 feet of snow on either side of me at times, not very fun. But the lake was gorgeous and definitely worth the trip. I can't wait to go back and see the island up close. From what I understand during the summer months they actually give tours of the island. So cool!
