Miami was close to not happening. On the way up from Key West there was a 5 car pile-up on the keys which shut down the whole freeway for 2 whole hours. I was close to considering staying somewhere further south since it was so late, but I was so excited about seeing my old brother/friend John Alvarez that I went ahead and forced myself all the way up.
It was so great seeing him and we quickly went into our old habits and started chatting like no ones business. We went to dinner at a place called flashback diner which had ok food. I think the company I was with more than made up for the normalcy of the diner. I had one of their sandwiches which turned out to be ok.
While at dinner John found out that Beta Delta was potentially going to be the only chapter that I didn't see during my road trip and he was not going to have any of it. He was a representative of BD and thus took it upon himself to deliver me there personally. We ended up driving 1 hour to where the chapter was participating in the Relay for Life for florida international university. On the way we stopped and picked up donuts for all the brothers as a surprise as we figured they were probably hungry from all the walking. It turned out to be a blast and I got to meet some awesome brothers in BD. I'm glad I got dragged out so late to go see them.
The next morning I met up with another one of my brothers, Hung, and the 3 of us and 1 other brother from the Orlando chapter went out to brunch Saturday morning. We went to Rosie's which turns out not to have breakfast food in the morning which made sad. Instead I had a shrimp sandwich which tasted pretty good. I also got to see Hung's house which was an amazing site to see.
