I totally forgot to take pictures here! And it was such a cute little town too! There was snow everywhere which was fun to see. The town itself didn't grow until the college was placed there. The town consists of 50,000 students and 20,000 permanent residents making it pretty much dead during the summers. At State College I got to meet the Alpha Rho chapter which were exceedingly hospitable! They were a great bunch of guys who seemed to get along very well. I also got to see my old brother Julian Haas which I haven't seen in a while.
Food-wise I went to a few different places. For lunch we went to Fresh Harvest Kafe where I had a vegetarian sandwich and a tomato bisque soup. Both were fairly average but good on the cold day. Afterward I had a cookie from Insomnia which was decent. I had a peanut butter cookie which was fairly soft and nice to eat. It wasn't the best cookie I had (I mean who can compete with hot cookie...) but it was probably the best cookie shop in town. For dinner we went to Rotelli for some pizza. I had the eggplant pie (aka pizza) which was good except for the fact that it was basically a cheese pizza with 5 strips of tiny pieces of eggplant. They were so small we thought it was 5 pieces of cut up bacon. I don't know why they were so stingy on the eggplant, but my cheese pizza tasted good. In the morning Julian took me out to the 'Original Waffle House' which was fun. We had the standard breakfast of 2 eggs, potatoes and a pancake. It was super nommy and I left satisfied. I definitely could have had more, but I was going to drive and wanted to stay awake.
All in all state college turned out to be more fun than previously expected.
